Tips for an awesome Halloween party: Food

Today, I’ll give you some ideas for your Halloween party menu. Now, you can get “Halloween-themed” ideas for food anywhere online; You can’t swing a dead cat on the interwebz in October without hitting a Graveyard Cake or a Worm Cake. Instead, I’ll give you some recipes for food that will be a little different from your average Halloween party menu (oh alright, I’ll add some Halloween-y treats as well). We’ll start wth the simple stuff:

Cold Hors d’Oeuvres

  • Cheese and crackers: offer several types of crackers (wheat, herbed, butter, etc.) with several varieties of cheeses (sharp cheddar, smoked gouda, Swiss, etc.)
  • Fruit spreads to go with the cheeses (pear preserves go well with gouda and brie, apple preserves with cheddar, fig with Swiss)
  • Veggies and dip (cheaper to buy the veggies whole, but pre-cut will save you time)
  • Chips and salsa (try flavored salsas and flavored chips for something different)
